About this programme

This postgraduate programme will expand your technical, creative and strategic skills. It will develop the knowledge and expertise to design effective and engaging user experiences.

Our programme participants typically are part of a UX design team, contribute as an expert UX Designer to technology teams, or lead a UX design group.

On this programme you will:
  • Learn how to understand the needs of their users/customers and be able to produce experiences that users would want to use and enjoy using.
  • Develop skills needed to design better interactive digital user experiences, e.g. for web, mobile, tv platforms.
  • Learn how to test existing products and those in development in order to understand the problems users have with them and discover how to improve these experiences.
  • Learn how to work with designers, developers, product managers and others and integrate UX activities into the current business workflow.

Funding

Part-funding of fees by the Software Skillnet will be automatically approved for successful applicants who are:

  • in employment within enterprise
  • in companies based in the Republic of Ireland

Who is this programme for:

  • Leaders of UX design teams for digital products

  • User Centred Designers, User Experience Designers, Service Designers, Digital Designers, UX Designers, and other digital design professionals

  • End user research professionals

  • Front end developers

  • Professionals who are part of digital design/user experience teams from a range of previous disciplines (psychology, graphic design, interaction design, industrial design)

Eligibility Criteria

The course is aimed at those employed in Republic of Ireland registered companies. The minimum entry requirement for standard entrants to the programme is a 2.2 (GPA 2.5 or equivalent), in a Level 8 primary degree


The course will run from late September to May each year with classes taking place two days each month. Early application is recommended to ensure a place on this very popular programme.

On completion of the two-year part-time Postgraduate Diploma, participants can progress to a further year of part-time study to achieve an MSc in User Experience Design.</p
