Programme Overview

Product Management can be one of the most mis-understood functions in a business.  If the discipline is adopted properly it can significantly contribute to revenue growth and improve the valuation of your business.

This programme is specifically targeted at CEOs and C-level execs.

It combines peer workshops and in-house mentoring to help the leadership team to adopt a strong product oriented discipline that will ultimately drive the strategic growth objectives of the business.

This programme will take place over two group workshop days and will provide two 1/2 day in-company coaching sessions per company. Individual coaching days will allow you and your team to explore product management strategies in your company.

Course Content

Workshop Day 1

The purpose of day 1 of the workshop is to align particpants around what product management is and more importantly what it is not. The workshop will focus on:

  • Helping the participants to benchmark their product management maturity
  • Recognise whether they are a market, engineering or sales led organisation
  • Working through a product management process from corporate strategy through to execution
  • Articulating the characteristics of a strong product management discipline

Guest Presentation:
Hear from a well respected venture capitalist who will present their view on what it takes for a company to capture investor interest and the characteristics that strong product companies need to exhibit.


Workshop Day 2

Case studies from 4 internationally successful companies focusing on the approach taken by their business to adopting a product management discipline that drives their growth strategy. Through presentation and interactive Q&A they will focus on:

  • Overcoming organisational challenges
  • Hiring the right people – what they look for in product management candidates
  • Adopting a cross functional product management process
  • Measuring the success of their product management discipline
  • Key learnings and tips for success

In-Company Mentoring

Each company will receive 2 separate ½ day mentoring sessions at their business premises.

The purpose of these sessions is to help CEOs to align their company’s leadership team stakeholders and to define an action plan of next steps.

In many companies there are conflicting views as to what Product Management is and in-house mentoring will help to align the key stakeholders. The mentor will create a report outlining a set of next steps, recommendations and actions for each participating company.


Closing Workshop

The participants of the workshop will get together for a ½ day closing workshop. Each participant will reflect with their peers on their key learnings from the workshop and discuss the next steps they are taking to progress to the next stage.

About the Trainer

Siobhan Maughan (IntegratedThinking)

Siobhan is the founder of IntegratedThinking and has over 20 years experience in the software industry, more recently as Vice President of Product Management at Openet. Since its establishment in October 2013, IntegratedThinking has been providing in-house mentoring to scaling companies, ranging from startups to larger enterprises.

Siobhan has delivered workshops for Enterprise Ireland and is an approved mentor with their Lean Business Offer. Siobhan mentors with Startup Dublin’s Mentoring for Scale initiative and meets monthly with Dublin’s startup community to offer advice on product management and scaling their business. She also works as a business mentor on Trinity College’s International Growth programme.
