How does Women ReBOOT work?

Women ReBOOT supports women with tech sector skills and experience to return to work after a career break. First piloted in 2017, Women ReBOOT has now enabled more than 80 woman to rejoin the tech sector, stepping back into high-skilled roles in over 40 partner companies

Women ReBOOT offers 5 key pillars of support:

  • Group seminars to develop confidence, professional competencies and CV and interview support to re-engage with the sector;
  • Technology training through an innovative online technology learning platform (Pluralsight) that supports upskilling across thousands of technology learning paths;
  • Industry knowledge and certifications through a technology sector familiarisation training and qualifications like the Scrum Master;
  • Individual coaching that supports the women to identify their new career aspirations and develop a personal action plan for returning to the sector;
  • In-company work placement that allows the women to showcase their strengths and familiarise themselves with the working environment following their career break.


Women ReBOOT runs for a period of 4 - 6 months with attendance for 1-2 days per month at workshops. You will also meet an executive coach once a month.


In your own time you will do online training in areas of your choice, and carry out a number of assignments individually or with a group. You will work on your personal action plan, biography, cv and hone your interview skills. You will identify your strengths and learn how to communicate these effectively to an employer.

You will also meet a range of companies, visit company sites, develop a new professional network and be matched with roles and companies for your work placement.

During the 8-week placement in a technology company, participants receive in-company mentoring, training and hands-on experience, giving the opportunity to
